Uh, hellooo? Hot?

I know it's a bit insensitive to bust the chops of the two people who recently passed away while competing in two running events, but it really hard not to.

The first individual 35 Chad Shreiber, died while running the Chicago Marathon in what news organizations called "unusually hot and humid" conditions. Puhlease... 90 degrees isn't all that hot. I know I live in the desert where it regularly reaches 110, but c'mon, even in Chicago, 90 isn't that hot.

As of the writing of this blog entry, it has been determined that the dude had Mitral Valve Prolapse. A heart condition which should have prevented him from running if he knew about it.

This doesn't change the fact that at least two other people collapsed and one is still in critical condition. C'mon people. Water? Even if it's not all that hot, water? Hydration? Seriously.

Then find out that another man died in some Army 10 mile run, again in what news organizations described as 70 degrees and unusually humid. 70?! How can a temperature of 70 even be included as if it was a factor?!

Anna Nicole Smith, Because You Can't Avoid It Anymore

I have tried to avoid posting about Anna Nicole, but it's just too bizarre and ridiculous to NOT say something. Here are some court highlights:

- Howard K. Stern took the witness stand at approximately 12:15 pm EST. He stated they became intimate over two years ago and decided to keep the relationship a secret. Of Anna he said, "We became more than friends, she was my whole world, everything to me. She was my lover." Of Daniel, Anna's son: "Daniel Smith was "like a brother" to him, and that "Daniel was a great boy and a wonderful wonderful person."

- Stern claims that Smith wanted to be buried next to Marilyn Monroe but it was too expensive. He also said that she felt that she would die young. Specifically, die while giving birth to Dannielynn.

- Anna Nicole Smith attempted to crawl into Daniel's coffin at his funeral.

I'm at the point where I don't think anything would surprise me.

I'm beginning to think that she actually committed suicide to avoid the horror of a paternity suit which reveals that the father of her baby, Dannielynn, is actually her own son, Daniel, now dead from an overdose of similar drugs that killed Anna.

Man Arrested in Fatal Elevator Accident

I think you can file this under "Justice Gone Mad"

Actually, I think once the 'justice' part of the process begins, or the "Order" in "Law and Order" takes place, the case will be thrown out. In the meantime, the poor guy will be treated like a felon and a murderer while the travesty that is the legal process runs its course.

Two people are having a fight in a trendy nightclub. One man tries to break up the fight. In the process he pushes another man into some elevator doors. The elevator doors open up, or fall off their track and the man falls four floors to his death.

Would any rational person think this man intended to do the other man harm, or by his action or inaction caused this man's death? How would anyone EVER be able to imagine that an elevator's doors would open by simply shoving someone against them? The person who should be charged with negligence resulting in death is the building's super or the elevator inspector. Ridiculous.
