PC Gone Mad

Reuters ran a story today about how the commercials run during the Superbowl have been getting flack. And not the ordinary flack about how they just plain suck this year. Apparently many advertisers have come under attack for being insensitive to various groups.

The "American Foundation for Suicide Prevention complained about the insensitivity of a commercial by the automaker that showed a factory robot leaping from a bridge after it was fired for a making a mistake."

The Mars company and its parent group came under fire for their ad showing two factory workers accidentally kissing while eating a Snickers candy bar, then ripping out chest hair to prove they are "manly."

"The makers of Snickers and its parent company at Mars should know better," the Human Rights Campaign said in a statement. "If they have any questions about why the ad isn't funny, we can help put them in touch with any number of Americans who have suffered hate crimes."

C'mon people! No one has the right to NOT be offended. There's no constitutional ammendment that says you have that right. You ARE going to be offended! Everyday. Get over it! It's a robot! They're two hyper-testosterone addled he-men! If anyone should be offended it's factory workers, not homosexuals! Good lord, people, get a friggin grip.
