The Alzheimer's Foundation

The Alzheimer's Foundation is dedicated to not only working towards a cure for Alzheimer's, but also to working on ways to ensure the quality of life for those suffering from the disease. This is especially important during the coming holiday season.

One way for all of us to help is to check out their shop and buy something. You can get something for yourself, or as a gift for someone this holiday. All the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, so you can get something for yourself or a friend and help someone else at the same time. Twice the holiday gift!

Alzheimer's is a tragic disease, robbing people of their memories, their selves and often their dignity. It is very important that those who are suffering from this malady get quality care. Not only is this important to those suffering, but to their families as well. Alzheimer's doesn't just affect those with the disease, but also those loved ones who have to deal with the effects.

I have not had to deal with this in my life, but I have had friends who have. It's very sad to see someone whom you've known and loved all your life, forget who you are, lose their own identities or simply become lost in confusion due to the effects of Alzheimer's. I can't imagine what it's like, to be honest, but thinking of my own mother or father in that way makes me very anxious. I would certainly want them to have the best care possible.

So please, check out the shop at The Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Pick something out, either for yourself or a friend or family member. Give yourself a gift this holiday by knowing you've helped someone else, while giving to someone close to you. Who knows, you may be helping them out in the future as well.
